Welcome to Bangsaray
If you have heard Bangsare is a sleepy fishing village where nothing happens, you have heard incorrectly. It is a village where life begins at 4.00 am, when the multicoloured fishing boats come into harbour with their catches. From there they get to the village market in less than an hour, ready for the early morning shoppers. There is a bustle about the place as developers’ dreams and town hall plans start to become reality. People are moving here with good reason. Sympathetic expansion should enable the town of Bangsare to maintain its village charm.
The beach and the calm waters are rarely busy during weekdays and offer an excellent opportunity for relaxing. The local beach restaurant offers local barbecue and seafood dishes from 08 Am to 08 Pm. Only a couple of hundred metres in from the beach road stands the Temple with its tall roofs and decorated spires. If you are early in the morning it is possible to see the monks on their daily rounds, collecting food and performing ritual blessings to the people. The local market takes place 3 times a week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday. Wednesday’s market is the far biggest one and goes on from around 04 Pm. to 09 Pm.
Bangsare is about half an hour south of Pattaya on Highway 3, known as Sukhoumvit Road. To the south of Bangsare is Sattahip, Samae San and a little further is the holiday town of Bang Chang. Bangsare can be reached by taxi in just under two hours from Bangkok, Suvarnabhuni airport for about 1,500 baht, including tip. Try to arrange transportation prior to travelling, as to take your chance with the airport taxis is likely to increase the cost.
